This little vacation started out as a trip to Los Angeles to visit with my mom's aunt. After arriving, we took a few day trips to get out of the house. Saturday we visited the Sn Vincente Lighthouse, which was closed. The museum down the road was open and from this point Addie was able to get her first glimpse of the ocean. It wasn't close enought for her to splash her toes and she didn't know what she was looking at, but it was fun anyway. We headed down to San Diego for an overnighter and since Aunt Ada loves Sea World, we decided to take her. Addie is too little to understand what was going on and pay attention to the shows, but she loved looking at the fish in the tanks and splashing in the water.
Aunt Ada and Addie take a little break from the fun to pose for a picture.
The coolest part of this picture swam away about 5 seconds too soon! There was a dolphin just sitting by the glass watching all the people. Just as mom was going to take the picture the first time a little girl walked inbetween the camera and us. By the time she moved, the dolphin had started to swim and with shutter lag...she was gone. Maybe next time.
Down at the Tide Pools Grandma was excited to show Addison the starfish. It took a few minutes to convince her not to squeeze them just touch them. She caught on pretty quick. After that she was ready to jump in the water and swim.
